I enjoy working with adult women navigating childhood trauma, anxiety, disordered eating, and life transitions. I work best with deep-feeling, highly introspective clients who are motivated to explore their inner world and make meaningful connections between their past and present. I'm passionate about using Internal Family Systems (IFS) to gently guide you in getting to know the different parts of your Self - those that protect, those that carry pain, and those that long to be seen. With curiosity and care, we’ll help these parts feel understood, creating more space for your core authentic Self to lead with clarity, confidence, and compassion.

My approach is relational, intuitive, and compassionate. I aim to help you understand patterns in your emotions, behaviors, and relationships and how they may be rooted in early experiences. I value choice in the therapy room and won't push you beyond what feels safe. Healing happens at your pace, and when it comes to trauma work, slower is often faster.

I bring both lived experience and clinical training to this work. I know what it’s like to be in the midst of deep healing and I also know the way through. You can be insightful, capable, and still feel overwhelmed by what’s happening inside. If that resonates with you, I invite you to reach out. Healing is possible, and you don’t have to do it alone.

Modalities

Psychodynamic

As a psychodynamic therapist, I aim to help you find and understand patterns in your behaviors, thoughts, emotions, and relationships. This also means I spend time exploring how your current struggles have shown up before now, particularly how they relate to your childhood. The goal of this is to help you gain more insight into yourself and increase self awareness so you can live life more peacefully and from a healthy, values aligned place rather than from a place of your childhood wounds unconsciously ruling your current adult behavior.

Internal Family Systems

IFS is a non-pathologizing approach that views the mind as a composite of subpersonalities, each with its own perspective, role, and function. It aims to facilitate harmony among these internal "parts" to promote overall psychological health and well-being. I have found IFS to be the most helpful modality in my own healing journey, and so enjoy using it with my clients too. It is my favorite way to do trauma work and inner child healing.

"When you peel the layers of protective parts, the true Self is revealed, and it is beautiful and unharmed." - Richard Schwartz, founder of IFS

Attachment Theory

Understanding how our attachment to our caregiver(s) growing up affected us, can better help us understand how our attachment style affects our most important relationships today. Through this lens, we can learn to communicate more effectively, cultivate healthier connections, and build more secure and fulfilling relationships in our lives. As a therapist, it is important for me to build a secure attachment with you as my client which means I take a genuine interest in your life, provide a safe space for you to express your emotions, and am consistent in showing up.

Acceptance and Commitment Therapy

ACT focuses on cultivating psychological flexibility, encompassing six key pillars: cognitive defusion, acceptance, being present, self-as-context, values, and committed action. It aims to help individuals develop a mindful and values-driven approach to life.

"ACT is not about eliminating difficult feelings; it's about being present with what life brings you and moving in the directions that you value." - Russ Harris.

EMDR

EMDR is used to help clients process distressing/traumatic memories through bilateral stimulation, such as eye movements or tapping. I find this therapy to be useful with more recent traumas that don’t have a connection to complex childhood trauma, or with clients who want to begin processing complex childhood trauma as a place to start, but I usually pivot into IFS to heal more deep inner child wounds.

Mindfulness & Self Compassion

These aspects show up in various ways in all of the different modalities that I use. I think mindfulness skills are important to learn to manage our mental and emotional well being, and that self-compassion is necessary to learn to take the difficult road of healing.
